Client Flow: Waiting to Treatment to Shampoo to Checkout

The client journey in a hair salon has four stages. When paths cross between stages, wait times and accident risk both increase.

• Waiting: near the entrance, visual connection to reception, 2–4 seats
• Treatment: minimum 600mm clear aisle in front of styling chairs
• Shampoo: short direct path from styling chair to shampoo bowl
• Checkout: counter near the exit, last stop in the client journey

Staff Flow and Storage Layout

• Chemical and tool storage on the wall behind chairs, separated from client aisles
• Staff movement path between chairs: minimum 900mm
• Shampoo station support: towels and product storage on the side or below the bowl unit

Compliance Checklist (Public Health Management Act)

• Minimum 1,200mm gap between styling chairs (outer edge measurement)
• At least 1 shampoo station per 3 styling chairs
• Sterilizer (UV or heat) must be shown on the floor plan
